💸 Why events are great, and what they cost
Events aren't just a way to meet in person - they're another door through which new people can find you. Some people discover you through your content, some through an event, and some through both. Now you have it all in one place.
You don't pay anything to sell tickets - Herohero doesn't take any commission from ticket sales.
📍 Where to find it
The feature is automatically enabled. You'll find it in the Events section on your profile.
How to create an event
Go to the Events section on your profile.
Upload a cover image and fill in the name, start, end, location, and description of the event.
Choose whether the event will be public or visible only to your subscribers.
Publish it right away, or schedule when it should go live.
Decide whether the event will be free or require a paid ticket.
💡 If you sell tickets elsewhere, you can simply add a link to external sales.
Selling tickets through Herohero
Choose paid event.
Create one or more ticket types (for example, standard and VIP) and set a price, description, and number of spots for each.
Also set the event's total capacity, the maximum number of tickets per person, and the start and end times of the sale.
As the event gets close to selling out, people will see how many tickets are still available.
The only thing added to the ticket price is the Stripe payment fee, which the buyer pays and sees directly at checkout. Free events have no extra charge at all.
Your earnings from ticket sales are paid out to your connected Stripe account.
Selling in waves
You can link one ticket type to the next: once the first wave sells out or its sale period ends, the next one opens automatically. That way, you don't have to manually watch over your early-bird wave.
By default, sales continue right up until the event starts, so someone can still buy a ticket at the last minute or even at the door.
A perk for your subscribers
Subscribers automatically get a 10% discount on tickets (you can set the exact amount yourself). You can also reserve certain ticket types just for them.
What if someone who doesn't subscribe to you yet wants to buy a ticket? Right at checkout, they'll see a comparison of both prices, along with a note that a subscription gives them access to all of your content. They can add a subscription to the same order with a single tap - no need to leave or start over. That way, someone visiting your event can become your subscriber before they even show up.
Sales overview
For every event, you can see revenue and the number of tickets sold.
A chart shows how many tickets were sold on each day over the last two weeks.
You can also track sales by ticket type - so you'll know which one is most in demand.
The recent orders overview shows you who bought how many tickets.
Checking guests in at the venue
The guest list shows you who's expected and who has already arrived.
Guests simply show their unique QR code, and you scan it using the Herohero app.
If someone bought tickets for a group, you can check the whole group in with a single scan. If only part of the group shows up, you can check in just those who arrived - and let the rest in later.
Changes, cancellations, and future dates
You can pause registrations and sales at any time and start them back up again, without having to set anything up from scratch.
If you cancel an event, everyone who signed up gets notified, and anyone who bought a ticket is automatically refunded. A subscription purchased together with a ticket keeps running as normal.
You can also remove an individual guest from the list - in that case, they'll get a refund for their ticket too.
Planning to run the same event again? You don't have to start from zero - just duplicate it and change only the date.
🔎 New people can discover your events too
Events also appear on the Discover page, which is gradually building into an overview of all Herohero events. That means both existing users and new visitors to the platform can find them.
For a lot of people, attending an event might be their first introduction to you - from there, it's just a small step to your profile and content.
💡 If you're ever unsure about anything, just reach out to us - the ticketing system is managed by a dedicated team that's available to both you and your customers.
