Connecting to Spotify

A guide to Herohero-only audio files on Spotify.

Updated this week

Sync your creative content with Spotify

Allow users to find and listen to your audio content on Spotify. This content will be locked to everyone 🔒 unless they are subscribed to you on Herohero. If interested in listening to this content, they will be redirected to start their subscription to your Herohero profile with a simple click. Here’s how you do it:

  1. Open your Herohero profile and go to Settings (gear-shaped button ⚙️), continue into the Spotify section, and turn on the Sync with Spotify option.

  2. You will be asked to Agree to Spotify’s Terms and Privacy policy. Click ‘Continue’.

  3. Syncing will start. This might take a while, depending on the size of your audio content.

  4. After syncing is done, you will be able to see your new podcast by clicking on ‘View your podcast’.

  5. Your subscribers will now be able to access your audio content after signing in with Herohero on Spotify 🎉. All your current and future audio will be synced.

If you post videos, they will be converted to audio and included, the same way it happens in your RSS feed. If you post both video and audio versions of your show in one post, only one audio will be synced.

❗️To use this feature, you will need to set your billing details, profile picture, bio, and connect to Stripe first. These are used to brand your podcast. Note that if you already have an existing podcast on Spotify, these will not be connected in any way.

💡 You do not need to have a Spotify account, syncing happens entirely through Herohero. However, if you wish to connect a Spotify for Podcasters account to see advanced analytics or promote your podcast, here’s how you do it:

  1. Open your Herohero profile and go to Settings (gear-shaped button ⚙️), continue into the Spotify section, and click on Spotify RSS URL.

  2. Copy the secret RSS URL. It’s only meant to claim your podcast, so don’t share it 🤫.

  3. Open https://podcasters.spotify.com/ and create an account if you don’t have one.

  4. In the top right, click on ‘I already have a podcast.’ and paste in your secret link.

  5. A verification code will be sent to your email. Paste the verification code to finish adding your podcast.

❌ If you wish to stop syncing with Spotify, simply turn off the Sync with Spotify toggle. Your content will stop syncing and it will no longer show up on Spotify. You can resume syncing at any time.

Connect as listener to Spotify

Connect your Herohero account and you’ll be able to listen to supported audio content from creators you’re subscribed to directly on Spotify. Here’s how you do it:

  1. Open your Herohero profile and go to Settings (gear-shaped button ⚙️), continue into the Spotify section, and click on Connect Spotify at the bottom of the page.

  2. Sign in to your Spotify account and Allow Spotify to connect to Herohero.

  3. Your account is now linked to Spotify 🎉! You can search for and listen to content you’re subscribed to on Herohero there.

❗️ You can only connect one Spotify account at a time. If you wish to connect to a different account, you first need to Disconnect Spotify in your settings, and go through connection again with a different account.
